Childhood
Grew up on small farm outside Philomath, Oregon.
Lost her right eye at four months of age in a car accident.
High School
Had a very limited sports background because of only having one eye, but began pole vaulting at age 14 upon the suggestion of her high school track coach.
Vault coach in high school was former world record holder in the pole vault Dennis Phillips.
1997 Oregon 3A State Champion in the pole vault.
Placed in the top three at the Oregon state championships all four years of high school.
College
Attended Texas A&M University on athletic scholarship.
Was the first female pole vaulter at Texas A&M.
Two time Big 12 Conference champion.
Three time NCAA Championship qualifier.
Still holds the Texas A&M school record at 4.06m (13’3.75”) and holds the top ten marks ever achieved in the pole vault at Texas A&M.

Post-Collegiate
2003 married husband Michael Bartolina and began training with him.
Improved in the first year to 4.40m (14’5.25”).
Placed 8th at 2004 USATF Indoor Championships.
Placed 13th at 2004 USATF Olympic Trials.
Placed 4th at 2005 USATF Indoor Championships.
Missed the entire 2005 outdoor, 2006 indoor, and most of the 2006 outdoor seasons due to injury.
Returned to high level competition during the 2007 indoor season finishing 5th at the USATF Indoor Championships.
Finished the 2007 season with 11 competitions over 4.25m (~14') and international victories in Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, and Slovenia.
